The film for the annual movie and Chinese dinner will be The Wedding Plan. On the surface, it’s a romantic comedy, but with a serious message. The main character, at 32, would like to get married as is encouraged in her community, so she seeks out help from the traditional resources. She gets her wish only to have the engagement broken. With feelings of anger and abandonment consuming her, she reaches out in faith and leaves the wedding plans intact, trusting that she will find the right groom in time. It’s in Hebrew with English subtitles.
Dinner—vegetarian but not certified kosher—will be from Corning Class. We’ll eat at 2:00 p.m. Reservations are required and should be made with the JCF office, (607) 734-8122, by December 20. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under age 13.
